Editors

Amanda Aubuchon, Plant Cluster

Amanda Aubuchon has been with IFAS/ICS for seven years. Prior to her work as an editor, Amanda served the department as the coordinator for the Association for Communication Excellence, managing its daily operations and serving as managing editor of the Journal of Applied Communications. Before coming to Florida, she worked as a project manager for Web development in Chicago. She holds a degree in journalism from Indiana University.

Susan Gildersleeve , Natural Resources Cluster and lead editor

Susan Gildersleeve has been with IFAS/ICS since 2001. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from UF and a master's degree in fiction from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. She is just one “module” away from becoming a Florida Master Naturalist.

Travis Prescott, Human Sciences Cluster

Travis Prescott came to IFAS/ICS in November 2007, and has been with the University of Florida since 2004. She did her graduate studies at UMass-Boston, after earning her bachelor’s degree at Boston University where she studied biomedical engineering and Renaissance literature.

Caleb Sheaffer, Animal Cluster

Caleb Sheaffer joined IFAS/ICS in March 2010 as proofreader and as editor in January 2011. He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and English from Penn State University and a master's degree in English from Bucknell University. Prior to joining the EDIS Team, Caleb worked as a newspaper reporter in Northeast Pennsylvania. He is currently studying for a master's in Library and Information Science.

Production Team

Diana Hagan, librarian/software development

Diana Hagan has been with IFAS since May 2002. She holds a bachelor's degree in Classics from New College of Florida, a master of Latin from the University of Florida, and a master's degree in Library Science from the University of South Florida. She has previously been employed as a cataloger in the UF Libraries and as a Latin teacher in the Alachua County and Polk County School Districts.

Wesley Croom, document production/technical support

Wesley Croom has been with IFAS/ ICS team since 1989. He attended East Tennessee State University studying printing, photography and computer graphics, and managed a printing and publishing company until coming to UF.

Hope Crawford, document production

Hope N. Crawford joined IFAS/ICS eight years ago as one of ICS' graphic designers and a member of the EDIS team.

Melanie Mercer, program assistant

Melanie Mercer has been with IFAS/ICS team for over 25 years. She joined the EDIS team six years ago after working in IFAS Printing and providing fiscal support for IFAS/ICS and Agricultural Communicators in Education (ACE).

Vesta Richardson, document production

Vesta Richardson joined IFAS/ICS over twenty six years ago. After seven years with IFAS Printing, she worked in Graphics and Media and she has spent the past two years as a member of the EDIS production team.
